  • Great and extensive reference book for restorers and guilders. Includes several recipes. However, it is not meant for beginners. One needs inside experience to understand what it is all about. Daniel Sievert was born in Bures-sur-Yvette in 1946. He learned guilding at the Ecole Faidherbe (I could not verify the existence of this school !) and with Maître Granvoinet (titular guilder at the Palace of Versailles). Completed his training at the Ecole Boulle in Paris. Works since 1978 at the Palace of Versailles, where he succeeded Maître Grandvoinet.

Laurent Hissiert was born in Périgeux in 1965. He joined the Palace of Versailles in 1990. In 2003 he joined the gilder-workshop at the Palace. Since 2008 he teaches gilding at the Ecole d'Art Mural in Versailles.
